Tax Settings (pre version 2.0)

The Tax Settings page of the dotAdmin system allows you to create and configure two tax types. These two taxes can then be levied against individual products in the store. The application of these taxes to orders is then controlled by the Shipping Zones system. The Tax Settings page is available from the Site Configuration System menu.

The example above shows the Tax Settings page with its default settings. Tax A, by default, is named “VAT” and has a 17.5% band, and Tax B is “Not Used”. Both of these names are editable.

Editing Tax Bands

To add a new tax band, enter a decimal value in the field labeled “Add New Band”, and press the “Add” button. To edit the percentage rate of an existing band, edit the value of the band you want to change and click the “Update” button. To remove an existing band entirely, check the checkbox labeled “remove” next to the band you want to delete, and click the “Update” button.

Note: The 0% tax band for each tax type is required by the system and cannot be removed.
