Tax Settings

The tax zone function allows you apply/edit tax rates according to the customer's geographical location.

To access your tax zone settings

• Click on the 'site configuration' icon in the top menu
   
• Click on "Edit Tax Zones"
  
• This will open up the Tax Zone page:

As you can see, you will have a list of zones, for which different rates of tax may be applied.

To edit a tax zone applied rate

• Let us use the example that we need to re-set the tax rate for the United Kingdom zone from 17.5% to 15%. We would edit the settings like this
• Click on the 'edit' icon  in the United Kingdom line
• This will open up the Tax Zones editing page:

• Click the 'edit' icon   under the 'Action' column on the VAT line
• This will open up the 'Editing: VAT' window

You will see that the existing value in the default 'rate' field is 0.1750 - delete this value and input the new rate that you wish to apply e.g. 0.1500

Click on the 'Save & Exit' button - this will close the 'Editing: VAT' window

You will return to the 'Tax Zones: Editing' page - click on the 'Save & Exit' button

This will take you back to the main 'Tax Zone' page

NOTE - You MUST remember to click the 'Save & Exit' button at both stages otherwise your changes will not be saved and the new rate will not be applied.
