Public Users

Note: Only Super Admins can edit Public User accounts.

A list of existing Public Users can be viewed by clicking on the List Public Users icon in the User Management interface, shown in the example below.

The most obvious difference between this listing and the Site Authors listing is that Public Users are not grouped into Admin Groups. Of course, Public Users are not permitted to edit the content of the website, but they can be granted access to view the contents of ‘privileged’ zones. These privileges are granted on an individual basis, and the process is explained in more detail in the User Privileges section.

Filtering the Public User Listing

Because there could potentially be thousands of Public Users registered at your website, the Public User interface allows you to filter the listing by certain criteria, to make it easier to find the users you are looking for.

The listing can be filtered by partial last name, first name, or email address (For example: All users with a last name beginning with F). It can also return a list of users who signed up, or logged in, between two dates.

There is also a filter to return only those users with access to a particular Privileged zone. In addition, if any users have requested access to a Privileged zone a link is displayed allowing you to show only those users, enabling you to quickly grant or deny those privileges.
