Optional Variants

An “optional” variant is displayed on the website as a checkbox.

This will usually be an additional item that compliments the chosen product. For example: if the original item is a games console, an optional variant may be a bonus pack of games.

When the customer selects this option by ticking the box, the extra cost will be added to the total sale price in the shopping cart.

To add an optional variant:

• In the Product Model Editor create a group/select the group you want to edit
• You will see the “Add new variant” box, like this:
  
• In the “Caption” field, enter some text which explains what the variant is. Using the named example, the text you would enter here would be “Bonus pack of games”
• From the drop-down menu next to “Type”, select “Optional”
• Click the “Add” button
