Choice Variants

A “Choice” variant will appear on the site as a drop-down selector. This allows the customer to make a selection from the various choices on offer for a product. For example, if you were selling a desktop computer, you would use this function to set up a selection process for the variable components available with that product such as a choice of monitor types or processors etc.

• Locate the “Add new variant” box
  
• Write “choice” in the caption field and select “List” from the drop down menu
• Click the “Add” button
• A new box will appear
  
• Enter the details in the “Choice Caption” field. Using the computer example, you may need to enter a monitor type here e.g. “CRT”
• To add further choices (in this example, a TFT Monitor), simply type in the next choice option in the “Caption” box under “Add New Choice” and click “Add”
• This will now show in the “Choice” list
  
• Choose which option will be set as the default option and click on the radio button next to “Selected by default?” under the relevant choice.

NOTE: The selected default will be the item which shows first in the drop down menu bar on the store page. If no other preference is selected, this is the standard item component that will be ordered and from which the sale price will be calculated.
